Ministries
We would like to minister to you, or provide
for you a place to minister to others.
Youth Ministry (Grades 6-12)
Our middle school and senior high students engage
in Bible study on Sunday mornings and in ongoing
discipleship studies on Sunday evenings. They
engage in missions with groups such as World Changers.
They engage in ministries such as work projects
at people's homes and providing Parents Night
Out events. Special activities are also scheduled
in which friendships can be formed and to which
students may invite their friends to enjoy their
church with them.
Children's Ministries (Grades 1-5)
Our children engage in Bible study and learning
activities on Sunday mornings (all year) and in
missions education and projects on Sunday evenings
(during the school year). They also are dismissed
from the main worship service prior to the sermon
to attend their own time of Children's Worship.
Special activities throughout the year allow our
children to develop friendships in the church
and to invite friends to enjoy the church with
them.
Preschool & Nursery Ministries (Infants-Kindergarten)
Our preschoolers and nursery-age children engage
in age-appropriate Bible learning activities on
Sunday mornings. During the main worship service,
extended care is provided for this age group by
Liberty's loving volunteer nursery workers. On
Sunday evenings during School of Disciples, preschoolers
engage in early missions education while childcare
is provided for nursery-age children.
Women's Ministries
Our women engage in Bible studies offered
on certain weekdays and weeknights. They also
periodically attend women's conferences (Beth
Moore, Kay Arthur, etc.) in the region. Our women
also engage in missions and ministry through opportunities
such as Linus Project, Food Teams, CareNet, and
Secret Sisters.
Men's Ministry
Our men gather on the first Saturday of the month
for breakfast, Bible or book study, and prayer.
The purpose of our gathering is to encourage and
challenge one another in our walk of faith.
Bible Study
There are Bible study classes for all ages each
Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. We have several adult
classes extending from college students to senior
adults. Nursery-age children through senior high
students meet in age-graded groups. The purpose
of our Sunday School/Adult Bible Study groups
is to make and grow disciples by helping persons
of similar age and life experiences to study God's
Word together and make application to their lives.
Our School of Disciples for adults meets on Sunday
evenings and offers a variety of small-group studies.
Examples of past studies include Experiencing
God, MasterLife, When Worldviews Collide, Effective
Parenting in a Defective World, and Knowing God
through His Word.
Church Fellowship Ministries
We promote genuine, caring friendships within
the church. Whether this takes place as members
visit together in one another's homes or at special
events such as Home Teams, Liberty Luau, cookouts,
or a Sweetheart Banquet, we believe God calls
for us to love one another, support one another,
and encourage one another in the faith.
Missions Opportunities
We look beyond our walls in efforts such as Operation
Christmas Child, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association
phone ministry, Linus Project, and generous offerings
for International and North American missions.
In recent years we have made trips to Ohio, Puerto
Rico, North Carolina, and Ocean City to engage
in mission projects. We also seek to reach out
to our community through tract distribution and
events such as the Liberty Fall Festival. The
church also reaches out to others as our members
live out their faith at work and at school in
Howard, Carroll, Frederick, Montgomery and Baltimore
counties, as well as in D.C.
Music Ministry
Our Sanctuary Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings
to prepare to assist in leading the congregation
in worship through song on Sunday mornings.
